As you may have noticed I took a little bit of time off from blogging. I’ve still been pretty active on Instagram and I’ll be back to writing regularly now since my blog is getting a major makeover. Thanks to Rita, the blog genie, my blog is going to be so much more “me” in just a few short weeks! I’ll be posting weekly again and starting a weekly newsletter. I can’t wait because I’ve had the urge to write lately, just needed some extra time to focus on the gym and my family.
So after this little month-long hiatus, let’s catch up over a glass of wine! {Or coffee…or beverage of your choice.} We can still be friends if you don’t drink wine, I just won’t understand you on that one.
If we were having a glass of wine together today, I’d probably tell you that I feel really blessed lately. I feel like I’m in the right place, doing what I love and growing in so many ways, personally and professionally. I really love my day-to-day life and I’m slowly finding some type of balance in this whole being a business owner and a mom thing. Admittedly, some days are much more balanced than others.
I’d also tell you that even though I’m excited and happy about life, I’m also anxious because so much is up in the air. We have a lot of business and family decisions to make in the next few years and I know there will be a lot of change coming our way. As someone who thrives on routine it takes a lot of patience (and coincidentally, wine) for me to go with the flow, but I’m getting used to it since that whole time we decided to have a baby and starting a business in the same year.
I’d tell you that we are not a Disney family and we won’t be heading back to Disney any time soon, but that we did have a great time and it was amazing to spend a full five days with my little family of three. Mike and I were in shock at the number of obese people and rude people. I think he said it best when he said “Disney makes me really want to do some strength and conditioning.”
If we were having wine together, I’d tell you I’m really excited about summer. I have a bunch of baby showers this month and then Mike and I are heading to Vegas to see one of our clients fight in the UFC. We have some family lake trips lined up, a trip to Cape Cod for a wedding and some other shenanigans mixed in there. I love summer.
Since we’d probably talk about (and eat) food if we were having wine together, I’d tell you about my recent obsessions. I can’t get enough of overnight oats and I am a spiralizing crazy woman lately. I also can’t stop with egg/veggie/cheddar scrambles on brown rice tortillas. I love food.
I’d tell you that I’m so excited about the new website we’re launching for Skill of Strength in the next few days. Like my blog, it just wasn’t “us” and this new site is going to be so much easier to navigate. We’ve been busy trying to simplify things at the gym, while at the same time providing the best options to get clients results.
Oh and since we’d bounce around in conversation from work to family to food to just about everything else, I’d tell you that I don’t understand how Connor is three. Where does time go? I know…everyone says that, but it still needs to be said. I don’t get it.
With that…I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. If it’s winesday for you, cheers! I’ll be enjoying a glass or two of vino tonight since I have a mom-date sans kiddos with one of my besties. I am learning that mom friends are legit life-savers. Seriously, I don’t think I could get through motherhood or life without having other mom friends who just get it. Between online friends I mad when I was preggo and through the blog world and in-real-life friends, I just love friends.
What are you loving right now? What would you tell me about if we were having a glass of wine together?
