This post and my participation in the What’s Beautiful Campaign is sponsored by Under Armour through Fitfluential. My opinions and goals are my own.
So, as you know if you have been reading my blog, or follow me on Instagram or we are friends on Facebook or we are Twitter buddies, I have been taking part in the Under Armour What’s Beautiful Competition.
{Here is my introductory post in case you missed it.}
When Under Armour posted this awesome video documenting the first half of the competition I decided to put together a quick bloggy blog documenting my first half with some highlights from my participation in the What’s Beautiful {Round 3} Competition so far!
First off, I have to say I love the competition. I love the community of strong females and I love looking at all of the beautiful photos and watching the inspirational videos. I am surprised because as someone who has really never done yoga (although I want to!), I especially love checking out all the crazy things the talented yogis are doing in all sorts of beautiful places.
I am also surprising myself with some of my progress to date as well. I am terrible at setting real goals for myself and you already know I don’t really make New Years Resolutions. It’s good for me when I do have a goal (like losing the weight I gained when I was pregnant, passing my RKC, completing the fighter pull-up program or recertifying for StrongFirst) but I am just not always great at committing to a specific goal beyond “getting stronger.”
Below are my team and individual goals for this campaign and I’m happy to say I feel like I am already making so much progress!
As far as my team goal to inspire other women to train to be strong instead of focusing on the scale, I am happy to say that even just in the last week or so I’ve received emails and texts that remind me, I am achieving this goal regularly!
I got a video text a few days ago from a friend/client who did an unassisted chin up. {YAY!} The smile on her face was priceless.
I got an email last week from another nutrition/group client that said “…Holy smokes to my surprise I’ve lost almost 10 full pounds (9.8) since we started in February!”
Another recent email from a long-time client said “Stepped on the scale today! Holy Crap! I can’t believe how far I have come in my attitude and focus! Thanks again for helping me to get kick started.”
I’m just getting started with my goal of motivating other women to be strong, but I love where our Skill of Strength ladies are heading. In fact, we had several ladies complete our monthly challenge last night – three minutes straight of sled push/drags for distance. These ladies absolutely killed it. I mean KILLED IT.
So inspirational and awesome! They are making time, not excuses.
As far as my individual goals…just this week I finally did a turkish get up with a 24K kettlebell. {Video of the 24K Turkish Get Up on both sides!}
I have been wanting to do this forever and can’t believe how easy it felt the other day! I am still really excited because this is a sure sign for me that I am getting stronger!
My remaining personal goal for this compeittion is to be able to comfortably snatch the 20K kettlebell for reps. I’m ready to attack this one head-on now.
