There are lots of simple things that make me happy. I think for awhile I may have lost track of that simple happiness…or at least forgot to be grateful for it.
Many of you know that I finished my job last week. This past weekend I was completely free from work emails and unfinished projects hanging over my head. It’s strange to not see my BlackBerry lighting up every 2 seconds with a new email and although it was a short break, it was nice. ๐
I had an amazing weekend away…started out early Friday morning when I joined two of hubby’s clients for outdoor kettlebells. It was a reminder (not like I really needed one) of how terrific he really is at teaching kettlebells and training in general.
After training we drove to Cape Cod and stayed with some friends who are incredibly generous and just all around wonderful. Mike and I spent the day together on Saturday sleeping in, drinking coffee, walking around and having lunch. On the way home we went to another friend’s house and enjoyed a nice Saturday evening BBQ and caught up with them.
I realized that it truly is the simple things in life that make it spectacular. I figured I would start out the week on a positive note and list some very simple things that I love.
- The way I feel after a great workout
- Brushing my teeth in the shower
- Vacation without a schedule and not waking up to an alarm
- Working out first thing in the morning
- Finishing a big project at work or around the house
- Painting a room
- Eating dinner outside
Speaking of dinner…
A lot of people ask me about my diet and for dinner ideas. Since I only eat chicken and turkey there isn’t always a whole lot of variety going on, especially during the week, but I will start to share more of what we are eating! Here’s what I just ate. ๐
- Grilled Chicken (see recipe posted on earlier post ‘Are you Pro-Protein‘)
- Corn on the cob (boiled on the stove for approximately 10 minutes)
- Broccolini (tossed with olive oil, salt and pepper and roasted on a cookie sheet at 425 degrees for 5 min on each side)
It made me happy. ๐ What makes you happy?
