I’m thirty one years old today. (Why does thirty one sound so much older than thirty?)
Last year at this time I wrote about how it was a milestone weekend for me. I turned 30 and was halfway through my pregnancy (20 weeks). Boy have things changed since then! Fortunately, the rest of my pregnancy was really easy and now I am a mom to an amazing 7.5 month old son.
Thirty was an awesome year for me. I feel so lucky and I thank God every night for my amazing family. Seeing my husband as a dad is incredible. Seeing my parents as grandparents is so stinking awesome. Seeing my sister as an aunt for the first time is fabulous.Β Being a mom rocks my world. Even though sometimes I wonderΒ where the heck I fit in now, I’m starting to see that change is okay and I am learning to embrace it. And embrace it I better…year thirty one is going to be filled with more major changes. π
My amazing husband surprised me and took me to the Patriots game on Saturday. It was so much fun…and oh so cold!
My parents took Connor overnight so that we could have a long overdue date night! We got to Patriots Place a few hours before the game and had a blast. We had a few drinks at a bar and then had a nice dinner at Davio’s. After the game we met some friends for a beer and stayed at a local hotel. It took me about .5 seconds to fall asleep because we stayed up until almost 2am. When you’re used to going to bed by 10pm (usually earlier!), 2am was very crazy for us.
My husband booked the hotel right near our old church so we could go this morning. We have been missing it there lately so it was so nice to see everyone and Pastor Chris preached a sermon that totally hit home (as usual).
After an awesome day/night with my husband which included drinking too many beers and eating a big Italian meal, I got back on track yesterday with extra protein and veggies and a quick workout. My parents took us to dinner last night and I enjoyed a delicious beet salad, grilled chicken and some roasted root veggies. Yum!
What a great way to ring in 31. If this is what my 30’s are going to be like…bring it on.
Are you okay with getting older or do you hate when your birthday rolls around?

I embrace getting older. I loved my twenties, but wouldn’t want to go back to that stage of my life. My thirties are great and I love this growing a family stage. :-). Happy birthday to you!
Amanda Perry says
Thank you! Good to hear other people are loving this stage of life. After partying this weekend I was reminded why I love my tame life and early bed time. (But it’s still fun to pretend I’m young once in awhile! :))
