Here’s a quick recipe for a delicious treat I made the other day. This bread is a good way to sneak in some fruit and I like that it’s not too sweet so it’s good for breakfast or for a snack. The recipe is also low in added sugar as well as low fat! I think I might try this again and add some protein powder and use only whole wheat flour. I’ll keep you posted!
Combine:
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon canola oil or olive oil
- 2 ripe bananas mashed
- 1 cup strawberries chopped
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix In:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool, cut and enjoy!

I honestly don’t remember, but I am pretty sure I did and it was fine. If you try it, comment and let everyone know. 🙂

Hi Amanda,
I am going to try your recipe. I love banana bread and wanted to find a healthy version. Did you ever try it with all whole wheat? Sometimes all whole wheat comes out too mushy, but I will try it if yours came out good 🙂 Thanks!
