I wasn’t really sure what to title this post. I titled it mother’s day shoes, but now all I can think of is that really sad Christmas song…Christmas Shoes.
These shoes are far from sad; they are happy shoes. You might even think they look a bit like clown shoes. But no, these are my mother’s day shoes. My hubby customized these shoes and ordered them for me for Mother’s Day. They match my website. It was such a sweet, thoughtful and creative gift. Look for the Mother’s Day shoes to make appearances in future videos. 🙂
Side note for those of you who do not know…Chuck Taylors are great for strength training and kettlebell training. Cushioned running shoes/althletic shoes can compromise your performance and also may increase the chance that you’ll go up on your toes during snatches, squats, etc.
I also got the sweetest card from our son-to-be. Hubby said he found it in the mailbox. 😉
In other news, we celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday night with an awesome dinner at the North End in Boston. We went to G’Vanni’s for some super yummy Italian food. My sister came home (she lives in TX) and we got to spend some time as a family. It was really nice. Hubby had never been to the North End after all these years of living in Massachusetts. He was definitely a fan and we’ll be going back. 🙂
My mom, you may remember her as Interval Momma, is amazing. She is supportive, understanding, generous and fun. I love that we are now not just mother and daughter, but also great friends. I can’t wait for her meet our son because I know she’s going to be an awesome Grandmother too! (She’s already spoiling him big time.) I know that not everyone is lucky enough to have their mom alive. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a mom who cares so much. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a mom that throws them an awesome baby shower. Not everyone has a mom that wants to (and is able to) run around with her Grandson. I am blessed with an amazing mom and never want to take that for granted.
I felt extra appreciative this year on Mother’s Day. At 9 months pregnant with my first child, I already feel like I’m in love with him so I’m starting to understand why my mom has always done anything in her power just to see me smile.
My mother-in-law passed away much too young, almost 2 years ago now. We’re missing her, as always, and hopefully she was able to celebrate Mother’s Day by drinking a margarita with Jesus yesterday. I’m so thankful that she gave birth to my husband who makes me smile every single day.
Do you like silly gifts, practical gifts or sweet gifts?
Did you get to spend time with your mom for Mother’s Day?

Sounds like a great Mother’s Day! I love the North End. I took my mom to the Wine Cellar in the Back Bay for fondue! She has never had fondue before. We had a blast!

Thanks so much Kendall! Ooooo the wine cellar sounds like a great place to check out once I have this baby. 🙂 It’s always fun to do something new/different!
