It’s incredibly ironic that last week I was posting about about mind over matter and surrounding yourself with awesomeness in order to accomplish your goals. I was oh so good at dishing out advice to you all about being great and positive in order to accomplish your goals, particularly how to achieve your fitness and weight loss goals.
Why do I find this ironic? Well, towards the end of last week I needed a little bit of a kick in the butt and should have spent a little (a lot) more time taking my own advice. On Friday I let myself get easily frustrated with things that certainly weren’t the end of the world (daycare canceling shortly after I dropped my son off, unexpected amounts of snow, feeling bloated and tired, nap strikes, and a few other #firstworldproblems).
I have a lot of personal and business-related goals that I want to accomplish in the next few months so I know I’m going to need to continue staying positive and being thankful for all of the blessings I have in my life instead of stressing out.
So join me, and let’s start this week out right by staying positive and taking some steps towards accomplishing our goals.
Here’s five ways to get started on your fitness and weight loss goals this week!
1. Believe in yourself. Stop the fat talk. Set a goal and before you do anything else look in the mirror and tell yourself you can do this.
2. Surround yourself with positive people. You know those people you spend time with even though you really don’t like them? Stop doing that and instead spend that time with your favorite, most uplifting friends and family.
3. Realize that even though you think you know, you might not know. Every time you fail at something you’re slightly closer to getting it right. It makes sense that you can achieve your goals by being consistent. However, if you have been consistent in eating a certain way or doing a certain training program and you’re not getting the results you want, it might be time to ask for help. Again, maybe you think you know, but you might not.
4. Be Thankful (and sometimes just suck it up). Let’s be honest, you probably have it pretty good. Things you have that many do not might include a loving family, awesome friends, a car to go wherever you want, a warm house, access to nutritious food, etc. I’m not saying you don’t have problems, but overall things might be better than you make them out to be in your head. I find that spending time with CJ almost always reminds of how blessed I am and how other things may not be quite so important.
What’s one thing you can do this week to stay positive and start working towards achieving your fitness and/or weight loss goals?

SO true! I’m so horrible at remembering to be thankful when I’m frustrated. I really need to be better about this!

Love this ‘tough love’ post to yourself, in a sense, and using yourself as an example on how to get to where you want to be, and keep holding onto perspective! We all have those frustrating days or weeks, it’s turning it around that is truly the difference! Hope this week is a better one!
