{Two Things Tuesday Vol. #9}

We had a good mix of productivity and family time and it was nice having the a little extra time since we took Monday off. I’m so glad we decided to take the day because despite a horrible forecast, we ended up lucking out and had a bunch of breaks in the rain to enjoy our last “warm” weekend at the lake this year.
Friday night Mike and I painted our bedroom. On Saturday and Sunday we played a lot with the boys, went out to eat a few times with my parents, and sprinted up our favorite hill. Plus, Mike got to break in our jet ski a few times and I took a trip to the outlets with mama to shop for me, not my kids… a rare occurrence these days. Monday was groceries, food prep and laundry and all the other productive Sunday-type things.
Enjoy today’s TWO THINGS TUESDAY with some things you need to make time for…even when you feel like you don’t have time. Plus a few things you should listen to and a few magical drink combinations.
I know your to-do list feels a mile long and the last thing you want is for me to add to it, but I’m gonna. Because these things are important (and delicious). And I’m so tired of seeing all of us ladies put ourselves on the back burner for everyone else all the time. It’s crushing how many women feel like they need to move out of state to get away and have a minute to themselves. Yup, had a client say that to me this weekend and let’s just say she’s not the first.

Two drink combos that don’t suck…
- Protein Coffee. Chocolate protein, unsweetened almond milk and ice coffee. DO IT.
- Vokda Seltzer. Titos and Polar seltzer. I’ve been doing this for a long time, but this combo was spot on and super refreshing during our painting extravaganza this weekend. I have a feeling the unicorn flavors are over, but the winter ones just came out and they are bomb.com too.
… and why sometimes you gotta choose the seltzer, water or tea over the wine. It can’t be all rainbows and unicorns all the time, right?
Two things that need to be on your schedule for this week…
- Workouts. Get ‘em on there. Don’t try, don’t squeeze them in. Put them on the schedule and make ‘em happen.
- An epsom salt bath. I never feel like putting in the effort to take a bath. Hell, half the time I don’t even feel like showering. {Don’t worry – I always do, it’s just the hair washing that goes by the wayside sometimes.} It can definitely feel like a project to fill up the tub, sweat it out, rinse off, etc. Tell you what though…I never regret it.
… and a bit more about a few important things that NEED to be on your calendar. Not every day or every week or even every month will be balanced, but please please please make time for your family, and alone time with your spouse. Oh…and for YOU. Little old you. All alone. 🙂
