I feel happy today. It really is a Manic Monday for me…in a good way.
I gave my notice last week and I am starting a new job 2 weeks from today. I am excited about the opportunity in front of me and happy that I’ve had the chance to work with so many great people in my current organization.
Not only that, but I am really focused on getting my life in order right now. Every step of that feels good to me (I am slightly OCD). I cleaned out my dresser last week and the closet is going to be this week. Anyone have any tips for storing sweaters and cardigans? I can never figure out a way to keep them from getting wrinkled in my drawer, but I hate hanging them and getting those stupid shoulder marks!
I’ll even be finishing up my current workout program (yes, I really do write myself workout ‘programs’ and would be happy to help answer questions about your workouts!). Two weeks from today I will start a new job and incorporate some new workouts…all with a clean and organized house. Yay!
This past weekend I attended a baby shower for a friend I have know for a LONG time (we went to high school and college together!). There is a group of 6 of us from high school that are still really close…3 of us live in MA and 3 don’t anymore, but this weekend we were all able to make it to the shower. Amazing for a summer weekend that no one had prior plans or committments! My friend is the most relaxed mom-to-be I have ever met. Doesn’t she look fantastic? Her due date was one month from when this pic was taken!
Her positive attitude and my great friends reminded me how good life is. Surround yourself by positive people and always take the time to listen to and encourage those around you. There is nothing more important than the relationships that you have with your family and friends.
On a workout note. Check out the Skill of Strength Blog today. Hubby wrote a great post entitled “Why you Suck at Pullups” and I think it’s an especially great post for us ladies. I always hear women saying that they can’t do pullups. Guess what? I didn’t used to be able to either and I am now well on my way to my goal of doing 7 in a row. This same theory applies for pushups, and I’m not talking ‘girl pushups’ on your knees. Real pushups. 🙂
Have a great week!
