I’m writing this post on my last official day off from my job and I’ll schedule it to post the first day that I am back. (Insert major sad face and tears here.)
This has been by far the best summer of my life. It feels like so long ago that I gave birth to my son. Then again, I feel like 12 weeks have completely flown by. I know my baby boy so well now and love the mother/son relationship we have already formed!
Can you believe how much he has already changed?
As I’m sure I will quickly forget what it was like to be home all day with my baby, I thought it would be fun to share a day in my life while I was on maternity leave (this was August 25).
- 5:45am – wake up and pump (CJ still sleeping)
- 6:15am – pick up house, make bed, brush teeth
- 6:45am – workout and make shake
- 8:00am – feed and snuggle CJ then put him back to bed
- 8:45am – shower, get bottles ready for the day, wash bottles, blog, pay bills, start laundry, eat some oatmeal
- 11:45am – get CJ washed and dressed
- 12:15pm – feed CJ and play time
- 1:00pm ย – train client
- 2:00pm – eat lunch while CJ plays on activity mat
- 2:15pm ย – pump
- 2:30pm – play with CJ (tummy time, standing up, rattles, etc.)
- 3:15pm – feed CJ
- 5:00pm – make dinner while CJ is in swing or bouncy seat
- 5:30pm – eat dinner and clean up kitchen
- 6:15pm – feed CJ and then play time
- 7:15pm – couch time, snuggle time
- 8:00pm – fold laundry, unload dishwasher (nap time for CJ)
- 8:45pm – bath time for CJ (daddy did the bath)
- 9:00pm – pump
- 9:30pm – feed CJ and go to bed
It may not look like the most exciting day, but I really loved this schedule and just spending so much time with my baby. Some days were completely different than this if we met someone for lunch or went shopping and ran errands. He is so well-behaved that I don’t hesitate to take him anywhere.
Most days, especially towards the beginning of the summer, we would take a walk every afternoon. I’m hoping on the days that I work from home and on the weekends we’ll still have plenty of time for walks to enjoy the nice fall weather!
As I mentioned in my last post about going back to work, I was not bored at all between taking care of CJ, running errands, cooking, cleaning, meeting up with friends and family, taking walks, blogging and training clients a few hours a week. It was a nice little life. ๐
We’ll see what my new schedule brings! ๐ I have a feeling it will be quite hectic and I might look like this at the end of the day!
How do you stay calm when things in your life are crazy?

Good luck today! I promise, it gets better. You’ll have a new routine before you know it! Just don’t expect to be able to get to that laundry every day. ๐

Thanks! It was a long day, but went well. Definitely not gonna be doing laundry every day though – you’re right! ๐
