This post and my participation in the What’s Beautiful Campaign is sponsored by Under Armour through FitFluential. I received shirts to giveaway to the local ladies who have been kicking butt in the competition. My opinions, goals and excitement are my own.
I have something really fun to tell you about today! On Monday night I hosted a ladies night for our clients at Skill of Strength and some of the other local {Boston area} girls who are participating in Under Armour’s What’s Beautiful campaign.
I love training people and I love all of these women so I knew it would be fun, but I didn’t realize just how much fun we could have on a Monday night. I have watched several of these ladies not only transform their bodies, but also their lives. I am so incredibly proud of these women and most of them probably don’t realize it, but they all inspire me to be better every single day.
Part of my goal for the Sistas of Strength team was/is to continue inspiring other women to set strength goals (instead of obsessing over the number on the scale) and really just make positive, healthy changes in their lives. When the opportunity came up to host something at my gym in Chelmsford, MA I was all over that one!
I was a little nervous about getting 18 women with all different fitness levels and experience together for one workout, but honestly it was great! The members who have been coming for a long time were helping the newbies and everyone was just moving, sweating and having a great time.
Love this quote from one of the ladies…
“New friends, new muscles, and new enthusiasm
were my prizes for tonight.”
I warmed the girls up…
Took them through some strength exercises {pushups, squats, lunges and inverted rows}…
Some core exercises {deadbugs and bodysaws} …
And a killer {awesome} conditioning circuit!
We may have also gone to the restaurant in our building for a glass {or two} of wine after the workout. It’s all about balance, right?
A big thanks to FitFluential and Under Armour for the opportunity to host this ladies night and give away some amazing hot pink Under Armour shirts to the Boston area ladies who have been killing it in the gym and spreading their passion for health and fitness to other women everywhere. I see many of these girls posting pictures, videos and status updates that are inspiring each other and their own friends and family members every single day.
I’m so proud of what we are creating at Skill of Strength and hanging out with many of our ladies the other night reminded me of how far I have come in the last year. I love my job and I feel like it truly is just the beginning for me as a fitness professional. I know many of these ladies are just beginning their journeys as well and I look forward to seeing each and every one of them grow (and some of them shrink …haha).
I am so thankful that I am surrounded by so many motivated and inspiring women who make me want to set and achieve my own goals and become a better athlete, trainer and overall woman.
Who inspires you to be healthier and more fit? How?
