Whether you are pregnant, thinking about getting pregnant or looking for a last minute gift for your pregnant friend or family member, hopefully this list of my fit pregnancy must-haves will help you out!
My second pregnancy is similar to my first in many ways, yet also so very different.
Ive experienced a lot of the same symptoms, mainly food-related issues and severe exhaustion. Thankfully, Im starting to feel a lot better and my energy is coming back. Im hoping my second and third trimesters are as enjoyable as I remember.
My work and home life is completely different than it was four years ago when I was pregnant with Connor. Instead of working in a cubicle in corporate America, my husband and I now own a gym. Between training clients, marketing, accounting, blogging and managing client relationships, I work harder than I have in my whole life. (And wouldnt change it since I finally love what I do!) I also have a very active 3.5-year-old little boy keeping me on my toes when I am not working.
At almost 15 weeks pregnant, my body has already completely changed. Some days I feel much heavier and achier than others. That said, Ive found that staying comfortable is key to staying happy during pregnancy.
Im lucky that during this pregnancy I rarely have to wear anything other than sweatpants or yoga pants and I can pretty much live in sneakers!
You better believe I jumped at the chance to review these adorable-looking Asics Get-Fit Sana sneakers when the opportunity came up through FitFluential.
- First, they are pink and purple. I love me some girly, colorful sneakers!
- Second, they are designed for fashion and comfort. I feel a bit more fashionable when I have great sneakers on since what I wear to work doesnt change all that much day-to-day and of course comfort is a must during pregnancy!
- Third, they are light and flexible with a customized fit. This is perfect for those days when my feet feel a bit ahem- bigger due to pregnancy.
These cushioned training shoes have been awesome! I have worn them running errands plenty of those to do during this time of year, right? I wear them when Im training clients and teaching classes. Ive also worn them for a few workouts and they are perfect for training in a gym setting.
Now that Ive had these sneakers for a week or so they are fitting even better and adapting to my feet. The light weight of these sneakers and the super-stretchy material makes it feel like I am pretty much barefoot! Ive gotten tons of compliments from clients every time I wear these sneakers!
Check out these Asics Gel-Fit Sanas online! They have a bunch of other awesome colors available too! I highly recommend these shoes for wearing around town, strength training, conditioning (they are not meant for running though), and for staying comfortable during pregnancy!
Other must-haves to stay comfortable during a fit pregnancy include:
New Bras
I needed new bras by around the time I was 6 weeks pregnant, maybe before! I am generally pretty darn small up there and went up nearly two full sizes immediately. I needed something a lot more supportive than my normal sports bras.
Yoga Pants
So far Ive just been wearing my normal yoga pants. I know towards the end of pregnancy Ill have to get a few bigger pairs, but for now Ill keep rocking the yoga pants I have. Im in the market for a really good pair of black leggings!
Sweatpants
Sometimes a pregnant girl just needs her sweatpants. Who am I kidding? Sometimes we all need our sweatpants. I love wearing sweatpants when its gross out and I feel like being snuggled up in my clothes all day. Theyre like a blanket you can bring with you everywhere.
Kettlebells
Ive talked about my love for kettlebells six million times on the blog. I think kettlebells are one of the best training tools you can have as a pregnant gal or new mama. You can use them for so many different exercises and when used properly you can get in a killer workout in no time.
Epsom Salt and Bubble Bath
Baths are so relaxing for mamas-to-be. I am often so tired at the end of the day I dont even feel like taking a bath, but when I do I never regret it. I feel so relaxed afterwards and sleep so much better. The Epsom salt helps ease sore muscles too. A bath-time treat package would make a great gift for any fit mama-to-be in your life.
Hope this list helps you stay comfortable during your pregnancy or surprise that special pregnant woman in your life with some comfort-inducing gifts. She definitely wont be disappointed if you get her these awesome Asics Get-Fit Sana sneakers!
Mamas, what were your must-haves to keep you comfortable during pregnancy?
