I love reading when other bloggers do posts on what their day is like and I haven’t done one in forever (here’s one from September 2011 when I went back to work after maternity leave) so I figured it was time!
To say my days have changed since myย last day in Corporate America would be a huge understatement. Although I don’t have a ton of routine day-to-day anymore (which was a little weird for me at first), I do have a week-to-week routine that is fairly consistent.
Here’s what yesterday looked like for me!
6:15am – Get out of bed and dressed. Pack up Connor’s things for daycare (I make his lunch and pack his bag the day before…just need to add ice packs and put it all together).
7:05am – Wake up Connor (if he’s not already up) and get him dressed and ready for daycare. Sing silly songs and talk about who he’s going to see at school and how much fun he’s going to have.
7:20am – Leave for daycare. (Side note: daycare drop off can be amazing or terrible. Monday was awesome…he gave me a huge hug and kiss and then ran off to play saying “Love you Mama.” Yesterday was a little rough because he was screaming when I left. Boo.)
7:50am – Arrive at the gym and get ready for class.
8:00am – Teach an adult group fitness class (our MOVE program).
9:30am – Work with a nutrition client
10:00am – Answer some emails, etc.
10:30am – Train with the guys who are prepping for StrongFirst in April. I will need to recertify (similar to what I had to do for my RKC last April, but just the testing portion, not the 3 days of training). I am actually going to be assisting at the StrongFirst certification in Tyngsboro, MA in April, 2013 – so excited!
12:00pm – Eat and shower at the gym. Hit up Starbucks to respond to more client emails, take care of some billing and look over some client’s food journals.
2:45pm – Go home and eat again. Put in some laundry and finish up working/blogging for the day.
5:00pm – Pick up CJ at daycare. Once we get home he usually plays and I make dinner.
5:45pm – Eat dinner with CJ (Mike’s not usually home yet), clean up and spend an hour or so playing, reading books, etc. with this munchkin.
7:00pm – Dirty boy time! (Yes, that’s what we call bath time – Connor even asks for dirty boy time now. haha) After bath we snuggle for a bit and I put him to bed around 7:30pm.
8:00pm – Mike’s home by now and we talk for a bit and decompress on the couch until about 9:00 or 9:30 and then hit the hay. Right now we’re working our way through Sons of Anarchy on Netflix. Great show, but still has nothing on my favorite – Prison Break.
No other day during the week is the same, but that’s what Wednesdays look like for me most of the time! Wednesdays are a great mix of sleeping in a little later than normal, working, training and playing with Connor. A lot of times I’ll schedule a meeting for coffee or lunch (business or non-business) in the afternoon and I love that I can sneak in a load of laundry or a little housework too now that I’m not tied to a cubicle all day. (Can you tell I really miss it?)
Are your days all the same or do you go by more of a weekly schedule?

I love seeing other people’s schedules. No kids for us yet but I always wonder what it will be like when we have them. I am in corporate america and my days are usually the same – at work between 7:45-8:15 and home between 5:30-6:15. What I do during those hours is always changing but for the most part, I get my workout done at lunch so after work time is just for the husband and dog.

I had NO idea what my schedule would be like with kids either. Heck…I don’t even know what my schedule will be like this summer. I feel like it just changes a lot more often when you have kids based on their schedules and needs as well as your own.
