Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. – Albert Einstein
I can’t tell you the number of times that I have seen someone at the gym doing the same routine every morning for weeks on end. Have I ever seen any of these routines produce great results? Unfortunately, no.
Maybe you have tried something like this yourself and wondered how it’s possible that you’re working out more than ever and still not seeing the results you want. Okay, I admit it, I used to run 4-6 miles every day and eventually couldn’t figure out why my body wasn’t changing. I was working out all the time and nothing was happening!
Maybe for you, you’re addicted to dieting and you keep trying to do the same diet over and over. It may work for awhile, but in the end, you’re not getting the results that you want. Women continually beat themselves up over how they look and what they are doing in terms of diet and exercise. It seems women are wired to be negative about their body. Stop that body bashing right now…it’s not only hurting you mentally, but it’s stopping you from achieving your full potential physically as well.
Let’s work to change that negative mindset and switch up your boring ole workout routine or yo-yo dieting that isn’t working anyway. Stop being insane!
Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Why do you have to wait until next week or until the fall or until work is less busy to start making better choices? My goal is to share my knowledge in order to give you the tips and tools that you need to become healthier and make the time that you spend working out more efficient.
Yesterday my husband and I did a great workout at the track. It was awesome to get outside and spend time together while doing something awesome for our bodies. We each took one kettlebell (I used a 16K bell and he used a 24K bell) and completed the following with no rest.
- 50 Swings
- .25 mile jog (recovery)
We did each of these 8 times through for a total of 400 Kettlebell Swings and 2 miles of running.

An average woman should start with an 18 pounder. If you go to the Store Tab on skillofstrength.com there are links to Dragon Door and Perform Better where you can purchase Kettlebells!

2 Handed Swings with great form the entire time. It's a lot of volume!
