Did you miss my first two baby weight updates?
On September 4th Connor turned 3 months old. He’s is growing at an incredible pace (too fast for mama!) and he’s already wearing many 6 month clothes. We think he weighs between 13 and 14 pounds, but we’ll know for sure when we go to his next appointment in a few weeks.
Unfortunately, three months also means it was time for me to go back to work last week. I’m adjusting to a new schedule and doing the best I can to balance being a momma and wife as well as an employee. I’m trying to go easy on myself and take one day at a time, but it’s definitely really hard. There are a ton of huge changes that go along with going back to work after having a baby. I’m also getting used to leaving my baby at daycare, getting less sleep, having less options on when to workout, commuting again, etc. I feel very overwhelmed and exhausted to be completely honest.
Some days are better than others, but the most important thing is that we are so blessed to have Connor. He’s such a happy baby and always wants to play! There’s nothing better than talking to him and seeing him light up with a ginormous smile.
I feel okay with where I am at physically. I’m still making progress even though it feels pretty slow sometimes. However, I am definitely getting leaner and can see a lot more definition in my stomach and arms than I could a month ago.
Workout Update:
Workouts are going well. I finished the second strength program my husband designed for me. We also did a great track workout this past weekend. I’m taking my HKC this weekend so this week I have been taking it pretty easy. Next week I’ll start my next round of strength workouts…slowly starting to work towards being ready for my RKC.
Nutrition Update:
At some point I should dial in my nutrition a bit more, but I have been eating pretty clean and I also want to make sure that I am taking in plenty of calories while I am still breastfeeding. Like last month (and basically all months), I have been eating lots of giant salads, protein shakes and oatmeal. My weaknesses have been for red wine and Annies Bunny Grahams with dark chocolate chips after dinner. Cutting out my “dessert” would help things move in the right direction more quickly, but sometimes it just makes me so happy to chill out on the couch with my little snacky snack or a glass of wine after a long day. 🙂
Progress Pictures, Weight and Measurements Update:
I have been noticing a difference in my muscle tone, especially in my stomach and arms over the last month. I haven’t been posting pictures of my back, but my back is definitely getting leaner as well. I think in next month’s update I need to post some pictures closer up so it’s a bit easier to compare/see differences.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…slow and steady works. I’m sticking with it and being patient! The scale is moving in the right direction and things are starting to tighten up.

Thanks! I won’t lie…it’s really hard. I’m a lot more tired these days than I was when Connor was first born. Crazy, right?!

Thank you! I am very happy…this whole working full time and being a mom thing is taking some adjusting, but in general I am very happy. 🙂 We know we’re so lucky to have a happy and healthy baby boy. He’s the bomb dot com.
