Anyone else hate Tuesdays? I just hate them. Monday I tend to feel motivated and ready to tackle the week, but by Tuesday evening I feel tired and I find myself wondering how it’s possible that we’re not even halfway through the work week yet.
I know this is something that I personally need to work on. Why waste a perfectly fine Tuesday, right? That being said, I think a lot of people tend to ‘give up’ for the week if they eat something unhealthy or don’t get a chance to workout at the beginning of the week (Monday and/or Tuesday). Is that your style? Why can’t this week be different?
Regardless of what you have done (or not done) in the last two days, for the rest of this week try to make some healthy decisions. Here are 5 things you can still do every day this week that will produce big results if you continue these habits over time. Let me know how you do. Can you check off all five things this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday?
- Eat whole grains. Choose oatmeal, quinoa and other whole grains over packaged snacks with white flour and added sugars. (Did you miss the super sneaky sugar post?)
- Eat a fruit and/or vegetable at every meal.
- Have protein with every meal and snack, and especially after your workout.
- Workout. If you’re tired, commit to 10 minutes and see how you feel. You’ll almost always feel better and just finish the workout. If you don’t have time, rearrange something so that you do have time. Note: A lazy stroll around the neighborhood is nice, but this doesn’t count as a workout. (See below for more on this from one of my favorite women.)
- Start fresh with every decision, regardless of what you chose to do at your last meal or during the last time you were faced with the decision to either hit the gym or lay on the couch.
LOVE THIS.
PS Is anyone sad that The Hills is ending tonight? It’s like the end of an era and despite the fact that it’s been going downhill for awhile since they lost LC, I will still miss the drama and mindless TV watching. I guess there’s always Jersey Shore.
