I lied in my last post about my son turning one month on Saturday. He was 4 weeks, but not a month yet. Silly me all caught up in being a new mom thought the 4th was on Saturday. So yesterday Connor really turned one month old.
We celebrated with a great weekend up at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
We spent some time just the three of us and lots of time with my family. We also got the chance to catch up with a bunch of friends over lunch one day, a cookout another day and again today on our way home. It was a busy, but fun filled weekend!
It was Connor’s first time heading up to our favorite vacation spot (where we got married 3 years ago). It was definitely an experience traveling with a newborn. We looked like we were going away for a solid 2-3 weeks, but really we were just there for 3 nights. I have a better idea of what we need to bring now so hopefully for future trips I will be a bit more efficient with packing. 🙂
We took the little monkey out to lunch twice and he did great! Mike and I got in a few workouts together at a nearby track since we had some very willing babysitters. We also had our first date night which was fantastic. It’s weird for me to be away from Connor for more than an hour, but it was so nice and date nights are going to be very important going forward in order to keep our marriage strong.
It was a blast bringing Connor to a place that has so much meaning for us and we are looking forward to many more trips this summer and as he grows up! Grampy already can’t wait to take him wakeboarding…maybe next year? 🙂
Where is your favorite local spot to vacation? Do you make time for workouts when you are away from home?
