This past weekend, my baby turned 2 weeks old! It’s hard to believe we have only known him for such a short time.
Sunday was also Father’s Day. Over the last few weeks after seeing my husband
as a dad, I have fallen even more in love with him. He stepped up to the plate and has been incredibly hands-on with our son from the second he was born. He stayed in the hospital with me (even though the sleeping arrangements were less than ideal) so that we could spend as much time as a new family as possible.
It’s awesome to watch the bond that is already forming between father and son. He is such a proud dad and wants to show CJ off to anyone and everyone.
It’s amazing to see my dad with his grandson too! I have always been a bit of a daddy’s girl and I often find myself telling people how awesome my dad is. I know he’s going to be just as great at being a grandfather! I have a feeling these two are going to develop a special relationship (especially since my poor dad was surrounded by 2 daughters his whole life!). My parents and my sister have shown CJ so much love already…he’s gonna be one spoiled grandkid and nephew.
I won’t lie, being a mom is the hardest thing I have ever experienced, but also the most amazing. I am lucky to have such a great support system, especially my hubby and my family.
I am so excited to raise kids with the wonderful man that I married and if the last two weeks are any sign, parenting together will only make our marriage stronger. It’s awesome to have such a great partner and to know that CJ is going to have an awesome role model as a dad.
Love my new little family. ๐
Happy (belated) Father’s Day to all the great dad’s out there!

Oh Amanda, he is too cute! I can’t believe how small newborns are! I guess that’s how small my little one will be when he is born… too precious ๐ I can’t wait!
I am so glad to hear that everything is going so well for you and from the pictures you look FANTASTIC! What activities would you recommend so far to do after giving birth? You mentioned in an earlier post that you were able to do a few ab exercises and whatnot. I’ve heard different things from different people. Some were able to things like what you mentioned and some were only able to walk around the block VERY slowly… I’m hoping the recovery time won’t be too much after I give birth and I’ll be able to start working out again sooner than later. Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing more posts of your beautiful baby boy! Thank you again for your advice and posts!

Congratulations on your new baby! The photos definitely make me want a second one soon! Your baby is super cute and you look absolutely great as well (But I knew this was going to happen, you carried a way that showed that you still had ab muscle in that belly and that you were going to snap back in NO time!). Enjoy this amazing time. You have probably heard it too often but they grow up so fast so cherish every moment!

Thanks iris. I really am trying to cherish every second of time with my little one. I know this time will just fly by!

Hi Jessica!
Connor was pretty little…he is a peanut so your little one might not be quite that small but you never know ๐
I took a full week off from doing any activity at all. The second week I did a lot of walking and a bit of light upper body strength work. This past week I have continued with a little more strength training. I’ve been doing lots of assisted pull ups and planks and some workouts on the arc trainer. I’m actually feeling really good, just trying to listen to my body and not push myself too much even though it is tempting. ๐
Best of luck to you! Let me know how you are doing!
