- Bicep Curls – Use compound (multi-joint movements that work several muscles at once). Try Pullups instead. Feel like you can’t do them or you suck at them? Read why you suck at pullups.
- Stairmaster for 60+ minutes – Not only is this boring, but doing steady state cardio does not challenge your body. Read Stairway to Heaven about a women at my gym who does the stairmaster every day.
- Recumbant Bike – You know you are only doing it so that you can read US Weekly and not have to work hard. Get moving. Push yourself if you really want to see results.
- Sit on the bench and watch sports center, the news, etc. – I see this one a lot. Guys will sit on the bench and watch TV the entire time I am working out. Wouldn’t their couch be more comfortable?
- Crunches – Read more on this one in Muffin Top Monday.
- Swing the 4K Kettlebell – I saw a bunch of ladies swinging these measly bells yesterday during a class…I’m not sure why the instructor didn’t fill them in that they could definitely handle more weight…sigh.)
- Talk on your cell phone – Your friends and family will be okay without you for an hour and no one wants to hear your business. (Even me and I am pretty nosey.) 🙂
